We went to listen to the Austin Symphony and watch the fireworks on July 4th 1999 with our friend Mary. For an hour we huddled under an umbrella while a thunderstorm rolled over us. During the storm, Mike Kelly, a reporter for the Austin-American Statesman, interviewed us. He wondered why we were crazy enough to come out to watch fireworks in the rain. Actually, the skies cleared and all proceeded as planned. The next day we made the front page of the Statesman.
